Review - Balcones Baby Blue Corn Whisky

The second dram on my Balcones hit list is the Balcones Baby Blue Corn Whisky which was the first whisky produced when Chip Tate started the distillery.

ABV 46% vol
75cl
Price £60

Nose 23/25 - sweet, buttery, vanilla fudge and home baking.
Taste 21/25 - it's strange and difficult to put my finger on, it's quite light, oily,  some oak and a definite chilli burn but only on the lips not the mouth or throat.
Finish 20/25 - middle of the road, spicy, possibly cinnamon or Bombay Mix.
Balance 20/25 -  not quite my cup of whisky, don't get me wrong it's an interesting excursion but I wouldn't make it a regular trip.
Total 84/100
