Review - Glen Grant 21 Year Old 1992 (cask 14197) (Adelphi)

The independent bottlers at Adelphi decided that 21 years in an ex-bourbon barrel was long enough for this Glen Grant single malt Scotch whisky. This single cask release was bottled in 2014 with an outturn of 219 bottles. You can tell its old, there's the complexity you'd expect; it might make an interesting paring with dessert at the end of a meal but it's not really to my taste.

Nose 20/25 - silver shred marmalade, nail varnish, pine.
Taste 19/25 - sweet, orange blossom, menthol.
Finish 21/25 - really big finish, resting with hints of Lucozade.
Balance 20/25 - not really my cup of tea, there's a lot going on in the mouth, for me there's just too much.
